In 2023, hotels in Gironde will record 4,75 million overnight stays, or +2,8% compared to 2022 (vs. +2,6% in mainland France and +0,1% in New Aquitaine). The increase is entirely driven by customers from abroad whose attendance increases by 14% compared to 2022, while the attendance of customers residing in France is almost at the 2022 level (-0,7%).
The increase in attendance is based only on the Bordeaux hotel industry (+6% of overnight stays compared to 2022) and the Bordeaux Urban Unit (+8%) while the other territories, which represent 22% of the departmental supply of rooms, show a drop in the number of nights (-10% for the Arcachon Bay, -6% for the interior of the department and, partly linked to the drop in supply, up to - 27% on the Médoc coast).
