Reception of people with disabilities

Tourism DNA participated in the design of a new awareness tool published by the Ministerial Directorate for Accessibility.

In order to help tourism professionals welcome disabled customers, particularly in view of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games where 350.000 visitors with disabilities are expected, the DMA (Ministerial Delegation for Accessibility) has just published a new awareness leaflet dedicated specifically to hoteliers and other accommodation providers.

This practical tool comes in the form of a 6-part brochure and provides valuable advice for welcoming customers based on their impairment (auditory, motor, intellectual or cognitive, psychological, visual:

  1. what are the main difficulties encountered ?
  2. How respond, what gestures and attitude to adopt ?

ADN Tourisme and the Tourisme et Handicaps association participated in the design workshops for this tool.

The association Sustainable Tourism Players has also published a practical and inspirational guide for inclusive tourism.

Tourism professionals have numerous levers at their disposal to ensure that their activity is as inclusive as possible. To do this, they must better understand the specific expectations of certain visitors, and offer an offer adapted to as many people as possible.
