Castle Carbonnieux

At the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Carbonnieux, Grand Cru Classé de Graves in white and red, is one of the oldest and largest properties in the Bordeaux region.
Founded in the XNUMXth century by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Sainte-Croix in Bordeaux, Château Carbonnieux has cultivated vines without stopping.
Its imposing Périgord-style architecture, dating from the end of the Middle Ages, hides a magnificent interior courtyard in the middle of its fortified walls. Unique in Bordeaux, its vineyard at the top of a beautiful Graves hilltop has the particularity of being distributed half in white and half in red, it represents the largest surface area of ​​white among the classified growths.
The reputation of Château Carbonnieux wines has been built over the centuries with the contribution of figures such as Thomas Jefferson, the Sultan of Constantinople.
