Behind the Palais Rohan, seat of the City of Bordeaux whose gardens it shares, the Museum of Fine Arts offers a panorama of the main currents of Western art from the Renaissance to the present day. It occupies two twin wings added to the Palais Rohan in 1851 and opposite, the Galerie des Beaux-Arts completes its permanent collections by regularly hosting temporary exhibitions.
In the south wing, you are offered a large selection of masterpieces from the XNUMXth to the XNUMXth century representative of the Italian (Titian, Veronese), Flemish (Brueghel the Elder) and French (Chardin) schools. In the north wing, you familiarize yourself, if you don't know them yet, with the great Bordeaux artists. Rosa Bonheur, Odilon Redon, Albert Marquet, André Lhote and Tobeen left their mark on the major artistic movements of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries.
