Located at the confluence of the Isle and the Dordogne, this meandering zone, subject to the influence of the tide, retains the river waters which flow towards the Estuary. This wet basin, called "palus" in Libourne, is by definition a vast flood zone. This freshwater wetland, of major ecological interest, is one of the most remarkable in Aquitaine.
