Some distance from the parish church of Saint-Martin-de-Monphélix, in the small valley of Bassanne is the village of Pondaurat, with undeniable charm. He played an important role in welcoming pilgrims on the way to Vézelay, towards Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. The Hospitaller Order of the Antonins set up a commandery there from the 1843th century. The latter, which today belongs to several owners, included a chapel, adjoining convent buildings to the south where the monks cared for the sick and received pilgrims and a fortified mill. from which they are separated by a narrow passage leading to the Bassanne bridge-dike. The chapel was provided with an additional bay shortly after XNUMX. You enter this building from the west facade through a semicircular door. The five bays of the building are covered with ribbed vaults.
