The port of Macau has always enjoyed a privileged location along the banks of the estuary.
If in the past the boats transited their goods there (including the good wine of its castles), today it is more oriented towards the enhancement of its environmental heritage.
We linger there to spend quiet moments, between Gironde and Garonne, or more festive times in one of the lively guinguettes that line its banks.
In the summer season, we walk its paths where the beautiful residences are a feast for the eyes.
With a bit of luck (you just need to be there in August and September, during the high tides), you can discover the tidal bore, this wave that runs down the river against the current. It is a very impressive natural phenomenon.
