Laubesc lake

In the 1970s, two successive ponds of 4 and 5 hectares were established in the valley of the Gahet stream in the communes of Cessac and Courpiac at a place called “Laubesc”. In 2009, it appeared that the two dams were malfunctioning, creating ecological problems. It was therefore decided to develop a project based on a reconversion of this 4 hectare space combining both the preservation of water resources and biodiversity but also a natural heritage interpretation trail. Fishing is regulated, re-stocking is managed by the Departmental Fishing Federation. The lake is open to walkers. Dogs must be kept on a leash.
