I tested for you "Sonopluie", a sound walk on the Roger Lapébie track in Créon

Walks, Culture and heritage, Secret Gironde, Hiking

Today, heading to theEntre-deux-Mers region, the Bordeaux hinterland, just 30 minutes from Bordeaux. I already knew his terroirs and its wines, its heritage and its craftsmanship, its hiking trails and cycle paths, but this morning it is to discover an original walk that I join the Tourist Office, in Créon.

Sonopluie, sound walk in a geolocated umbrella

Headphones on my ears and an umbrella in my hands, I leave the old Créon station. Passers-by look at me intrigued, it's true that it's unusual to walk around with an umbrella…when it's not raining! But today, it's an asset because the sun is starting to show itself and here I am protected from its rays.

The walk begins on the platform of the old station, I am guided by a soft voice that reminds me that before, the steam train passed. According to the testimonies of inhabitants, experiences and musical compositions, I begin my stroll on the Roger Lapébie track, immersed and invited to travel through time.

The umbrella is geolocated, so it's at my own pace that I progress along the track, under this vegetal vault, listening to memories, noises and anecdotes that are triggered depending on where I am.

A beautiful poetic escape

Before leaving, I was told that Sonopluie is an original experience that reveals the invisible part of the territory.

That's exactly it, I feel like in a cocoon, under my umbrella, listening to the story of Creon. But in my helmet, these inhabitants also tell me their stories, with great sensitivity, poetry, far from tourist visits with an audio guide! The testimonies of the inhabitants are poignant and evoke nostalgia for the past.

I am in total immersion in the intimacy of the place.

There is no hurry, I face the track unfolding before my eyes, I do not see the time passing.

Nature getaway

During my walk, I discover the undergrowth and their specific smells, the rows of vines on the valleys, windows of vegetation let me glimpse the countryside of the Bordeaux hinterland and I attend the spectacle of butterflies. I give in to greed in front of small wild strawberries!

After this intimate discovery of the history of the place, I come back to reality, slowly, I am still in my bubble, almost hypnotized by these voices which guided me.

Finally, it's not just a sound walk, but it's also an invitation to let go, to step back on yourself during the walk, a real suspended moment to share!

« It's a journey between the real and the imaginary, between history and reality, a return to childhood.
