This route, walking on heights in the middle of the vineyard, will make you discover some pretty points of view. But also a rich heritage such as the restored windmill of Gornac, or the flowery village of Coirac.

Your itinerary

The start

Head towards the center of the town via the D230. Go past the church then continue to the exit of the village, turn left onto rue des Ecoles.

Haut-Benauge mill

Right on the D228 then 100m to your left towards Moulin du Haut Benauge. Located 109 meters above sea level on the ridge that crosses part of Gornac, the Moulin du Haut-Benauge, which has become the heritage symbol of the town, is a windmill built in 1601. Since its restoration in 1971, the mill houses a small museum of vine and wine which exhibits agricultural and artisanal tools and an iconography on rural trades.

T junction turn left then right.

After 600m the road turns left, go straight on through the woods along the path.

Towards D119E6

You come out on a paved road. Take the right.

At the T-junction, go straight on the path to the D119 which leads to Coirac.

To Coirac

Return to the road and turn right to reach Coirac.

Koirak

In the village, at the crossroads, take the direction of Gornac. Follow the road for 800m.

Lamayre

At the crossroads, turn left towards Lamayre. Continue for 800m.

Dirt road

The path goes to your right, continue by the one opposite.

To D228

At about 700m, after the vineyards, turn right towards the D228 to bypass the farm buildings. Go left on the road.

castelande

250m later left again towards Castelande. Cross the hamlet and the various buildings, then follow the road which bends to the right.

T-crossing

At the intersection go right then on the D230 right again to enter Gornac.
