SAINT-YZAN-DE-SOUDIAC

The Haros loop bears the name of a tributary stream of the Saye. Attached to the neighboring town of Saint-Savin with the French Revolution, Saint-Yzan gained its autonomy at the end of the XNUMXth century by taking advantage of the arrival of the railway which allowed significant development. To the west of the town, in the immediate vicinity of the town hall and the college, you will discover the small church built in the XNUMXth century which testifies to the antiquity of the parish. Partly remodeled in the XNUMXth century, the church retains its Romanesque silhouette and a few sculpted corbels. The countryside offers a beautiful variety of landscapes for contemplation where vineyards, meadows and pine forests alternate delicately. From the heights you can admire the breathtaking view of the whole valley and in good weather you can see the Pont d'Aquitaine, the gateway to Bordeaux.
