The Boucle de Cubnezais reveals to the curious and attentive walker the richness of a landscape delicately shaped by nature and man. You may be lucky enough, by being discreet and observant, to see or hear them during your walk.
The vineyard which is the other component of this territory produces a wine marketed under the Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The clay-limestone and clay-gravel hillsides of the territory of Saint Savin, rub shoulders with silico-clay plateaus. This plot arrangement gives them their own typicality, where each grape variety can find the terroir that is suited to it.
You will notice several times the specificity of certain plots with the planting of vines in lyre of Château la Bertinerie. At the end of the hike, you will discover the Saint Martin church whose steeple you can guess when you arrive in the village.

The start

Opposite the town hall, turn right. Pass in front of the stadium, then turn left on the stone path that runs along the vines of the place called “Fouché”. Enter the woods of Brède. Arrived at the paved road, turn left then right. At the crossroads keep to the left and continue on the main road. After going around the plot of vines, turn left into rue des Cournaux. Further down, turn right and follow the dead end.

Take the path between forest and vineyards and follow upwind. Browse close by along the wood. Watch out for horses. You are on private property: please respect the premises and close the fence behind you. Then catch the road on the left. At the intersection, turn right and 100m enter the field to join the paved road on the opposite side.

Go up the small road to the left, then turn right at the end. 1km further, turn left and immediately right. Take the road between the vines, staying on the main road for 1,700 km. Arrived at “Les Grandes Landes”. Go past the houses and turn left onto a sandy path which enters a tunnel of greenery in the Bois de la Michelotte.

At the end of the path, turn left and follow for 750m. Then turn right and then left. Arrived on the paved road at "Perrot-Bichon", turn left and further on enter on your right the site of Dougnes, which has been converted into a fitness trail. Follow the signs on the site. At the end of the route, cross the road and follow the path opposite and enter the woods. Turn right at the end. Cross the paved road, then follow the path between the vines. Arrived at the hamlet "Les Nauves", join the village by the left rue des Plantes then at the end on the right.
