International Animation Film Festival

Turtleneck & Shellfish . Culture

Hmm the smell of popcorn… synonymous with gluttony for some, a return to childhood for others, for us at the editorial office it rhymes above all with movies. It's true, what better than a good canvas to accompany a large box of popcorn?

Now that we've made your mouth water, it's time to reveal our good plan of the moment on the cinema side. In a few days starts the International Animation Film Festival which will largely take place in Bègles. On the program: screenings, award ceremonies, exhibitions, workshops, and much more… We explain everything to you.

The 29th edition of the festival, “Les Nuits Magiques” will take place from December 4 to 15. The program is very varied and we are ready to bet that you will like it! On the program, many animated films, features and shorts, you can even vote for your favorite films (comedy, emotional, fantastic categories, etc.). And it's not over

Here are some animations that caught our eye:

  • An introductory workshop to learn how to make short animation sequences on Wednesday December 11 at 14 p.m. and Friday December 14 at 14:30 p.m. (note, reservation required!).
  • Exhibitions to admire film posters and collectors' documents throughout the festival.
  • A quiz on the villains of animated cinema on Friday December 6 at 21 p.m. For the best, cinema tickets to be won!
  • L'improciné on Saturday December 7 at 20 p.m.: come and watch the improvisation of actors around the theme of animated cinema.

The festival is organized by the “Flip Book” and the cinema “Le Festival” in the cinemas of Bègles and Le Haillan. The complete program of films and proposed animations can be found just here. So come take part in the International Animation Film Festival: we prepare the popcorn and let's go!
