Saint-Caprais-de-Bordeaux is nestled in the wine region of the First Coasts of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Garonne. From there, your steps will guide you towards hikes through Entre-deux-Mers and its leading historical heritage. Nearby, multiply the tourist discoveries by visiting the medieval village of Saint-Macaire, and the magnificent castles of Cadillac, Roquetaillade or La Brède (home of Montesquieu). Château La Gontrie is located on an 11 hectare property, surrounded by the vineyards and the castle forest. The owners, Jean-Louis Rives and his wife Nola will be happy to make you taste their wines in the AOC Bordeaux Clairet, Bordeaux rosé, Bordeaux Blanc sec, Côtes de Bordeaux Rouge and Moelleux Côtes de Bordeaux.
