Pigeon Festival

In Bazadais, wood pigeon hunting is a consummate art that is practiced every year from September 15 to November 15, the period of migratory passage of the beautiful blue bird.
In recent years, a special event has been dedicated to him, staged by the "Brotherhood of Paloumayres de Bazats", guardian of traditions in this area.
A hunt is re-enacted on the magnificent Place de la Cathédrale. The trees, the cabin, the vegetation, the "soil": it's all there! Half a day dedicated to the world of wood pigeons, perhaps better known, outside Aquitaine, under the name of wood pigeons.
