Bacourey, 33430 BERNOS-BEAULAC
A pleasant walk on the banks of the Ciron takes you to the heart of the forest, where former resin workers passionately present their profession, which no longer exists today.
From February to October the tapper does not leave the woods. From the preparation of the tree, carried out at the very beginning of the season, until the barrascot (end of the work), the resin worker travels through the pine forest. Very often, wives and children share in his daily life by helping out.
The Friends of the Heritage of Bernos-Beaulac offer you a visit during which you will discover the history of this activity in Bazadais and the still intact know-how of the gemmers.
Information and registration at the Bazadais Tourist Office, the Wednesday before the visit.
