To the south of the medieval town of Saint-Émilion, on the edge of the departmental road linking Libourne and Bergerac, the wine bar of the Union des Producteurs de Saint-Émilion welcomes you. The oldest cooperative cellar in Gironde, a young lady whose 80th birthday was celebrated in the spring of 2011, today represents some 175 châteaux in the appellation. Whether you have visited some of these areas before or not, here you enter another dimension.
Seen from the outside, the huge building facing you looks like an ocean liner. Inside, discover a glass cathedral where 141 sparkling stainless steel vats stare at you. As for the cellar intended to accommodate no less than 5200 barrels, it looks like a forest of oak barrels. After seeing how the bottling line works, taste one of the many wines from the Union des Producteurs de Saint-Émilion.
