Chateau Voigny

French, English

Open every day from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m.; on weekends preferably by appointment.

South-east of Bordeaux and a few kilometers from Langon, Preignac is one of the five communes to have the right to baptize its wines with the prestigious name of Sauternes. Fall under the spell of Château Voigny here, a beautiful 18th century residence. It is said that it was the Duke of Anjou himself, grandson of Louis XIV, who, charmed by the beauty of the place, decided to ennoble Voigny.
Today, the Bon brothers invite you to discover this 26 hectare vineyard bordered by both the Garonne and its tributary the Ciron. The morning mists that rise, combined with the autumnal mildness, allow the development of the botrytis cinerea fungus or “noble rot” which makes Sauternes a unique wine. Still in the company of the owners of Château Voigny, taste a wine from the estate, ideal as an aperitif accompanied by foie gras and Roquefort toasts.
