In the XNUMXth century, Château Jacquet was a relay on the way to Compostela, hence its name. Pilgrims who stopped there then crossed the Dordogne via the Cubzac ford or chose to continue their journey along the right bank towards Libourne.
In 1981, when Martine and François Letourneau acquired this estate, there was no cellar or shed and the vineyard only covered 10 hectares. Today, helped by their children, they proudly cultivate 50 hectares of vines in the Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur and Côtes de Bourg appellations.
Follow the Letourneau family through its vines and its cellars with a capacity of 4000 hectoliters, double that of barely 10 years ago. You will then be knowledgeable about pruning, drying, curdling and folding, desuckering and lifting, and of course, the work of harvesting, vinification and aging of the wine.
