Château Haut-Sarpe is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Émilion. In 1867, the vintage received the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. The owner, Baron du Foussat, then decided to give it a setting worthy of its prestige by launching major renovations. Since 1934, Château Haut-Sarpe has belonged to the Janoueix family, owners of several châteaux in Bordeaux.
The residence that you discover when crossing the high gates of the Château dates from the reign of Louis XVI. Its architect would have been inspired by the Petit Trianon in Versailles. Its "great century" look is reflected in its three-hectare park. But Château Haut-Sarpe is above all a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, committed to an organic farming approach and aged in one of the 100 barrels that you discover when visiting the cellars.
