Crabitey is a beautiful 18th century residence, surrounded by vineyards, pine trees and chestnut trees. Mr Faye, the owner in the 1850s, devoted his estate to the education of orphans. On his death, he transferred the property to the archbishopric of Bordeaux.
In 1872, the Franciscan Sisters of Seillon arrived in Crabitey, where they taught children the profession of vines and wine and devoted themselves to their education. The wine industry developed and Crabitey wine acquired a certain reputation.
In 1982, Jean-Ralph de Butler, an agronomist, arrived, whose mission was to professionalize the wine industry. He was joined in 1998 by his son, Arnaud. For 10 years, they will sublimate Crabitey wines. Then, when the Sisters decided to transfer the property, Arnaud purchased this unique place.
Even today, the architecture recalls the atypical history of Crabit
