Clare Castle

Château Clare is located in a small natural setting, in a clearing in the Landiras forest, where the pines protect it from the heat of the Atlantic winds. It was in 1733 that the Carreyre family, winegrowers from father to son, bought the estate. The name Clare would have been symbolically chosen by one of the ancestors, out of love for a Claire.

5 generations have succeeded one another and since 1991, Thierry has significantly developed the vineyard, which has grown from 9 to 17 ha. The vines are spread over 2 plateaus of small gravel, some of which are very deep (up to 8/10 meters). Very filtering, the gravel provides the vines with a regular water supply, reinforced by the presence underground of the famous Budos springs, which serve the entire south of Bordeaux and gives its full measure in a fruity and fleshy Graves.
