I tested another way for you to discover Saint-Emilion and its vineyards: by Segway® Segway!
The Segway® is an electric vehicle on two wheels that works with the balance of the body. To tell you the truth, I was not very reassured before and during the first 5 minutes...
It was at Château La Renommée, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, in Saint Laurent des Combes, that I met Jean-Baptiste at the start of the afternoon for a 2-hour walk.
The welcome is very nice and Jean-Baptiste did everything to reassure me before riding "the beast".
The safety rules are well explained. Although not compulsory, the castle provides a helmet. Even if the falls are almost non-existent, I highly recommend its port. Personally, this reassured me a lot.
And off we go for a 2 hour ride. In 10 years of immersion in the Bordeaux vineyards, I had never seen Saint-Emilion from this angle. The Segway, all-terrain, allows us to pass through the middle of the trees of a forest, see for yourself this video that I took live at the start of the course:
Completely ecological, this means of transport does not require much physical effort either! (Aside from standing still!)
After our passage in the forest, we were on the slopes of Saint-Emilion passing by the vineyard of Château Pavie (please!)
And there, the most beautiful panorama of Saint-Emilion was offered to us! Incredible !
It is quite naturally and gently that we crossed the Porte Brunet of the village!
And so, enter this wonderful village, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The return to the castle is done quietly. The team of the castle then takes care of showing us around the estate and of course discovering their wine.
This is a special area which now has 58 partners! It is GFV (Groupement Foncier Viticole) which is open to all. It allows you, if you wish, to also become a partner of the property and perhaps to realize your dream of becoming the owner of a castle in Saint-Emilion!

I had a fabulous afternoon! Although not really comfortable initially on my Segway, it only took me a few minutes to relax and fully enjoy this lovely ride. I highly recommend this unusual activity to (re)discover Saint-Emilion in a different way.
