Catch them all !

Turtleneck & Shellfish

To you, little budding explorer who can't wait to discover new horizons. To you dear parents who are going to get caught up in the game… Here is Terra Aventura, THE game for adventurous neo-Aquitaine. David, Tèrra Aventura manager for the Gironde tells us more.

David, you are the Tèrra Aventura expert in the Gironde, so explain everything to us!

Tèrra Aventura is a free application that allows you to go on a life-size treasure hunt! Going on an assault on unknown lands thanks to the maps that will lead you to treasures, it is a concept that is very popular. It's a fun and really cool way to discover the region.

Who can be part of the expedition?

It all depends on the mode of operation and the pace of each. What is certain is that the game is a great success with families. Expeditions vary between 1h and 3h. Parents can enjoy the heritage, the landscapes and the children are fully in the game! I also regularly meet couples, more or less young who are also on the job. You can even attempt the quest solo.

The question we all ask ourselves is… What is the treasure?

This is called Poï'z. These are small collectible badges hidden in a rather ingenious way and not always obvious in nature as in urban areas in “caches”. It's up to you to choose the environment and the theme in which you want to be immersed: Wines & Spirits, Arts, Stories & Monuments, Tales and legends, At the water's edge, Medieval... Once the expedition has started, it's up to you to find the Poï'z hidden behind this theme, with the help of the application which will give you riddles leading you to clues to the famous treasure! Today there are 33 poï'z.

And once we've found everything, what happens?

If you have found them all, it means that you have stored up an imperishable knowledge of the lands you have trodden and that you are also a big gamer since hidden quests will be revealed on your map... And to prolong the pleasure, new quests are created constantly. In a few days, a dozen caches will appear in Gironde, so stay focused!

Do you think the new quests will attract even more people?

Yes, that's for sure, this year, a wave of 700 adventurers of all ages swept over New Aquitaine, next year, we expect no less than a million players... There are people who come to the place specifically for doing Tèrra Aventura routes! Families make reservations for a weekend, sometimes more. Another example, we opened a new cache in Sauveterre-de-Guyenne, in the space of a few minutes, about twenty teams were already on the ground looking for the Poï'z. There is even one who wrote a poem about the town!

The expert's survival kit?

A bottle of water, a cap, good shoes, a hiking brochure, a smartphone of course, and DATA to get internet in any situation. For the less connected, don't panic, you have the possibility ofprint the roadmap of the chosen route.

The final word ?

Good luck to everyone !
