LABARD
In addition to apprehending a local and ancestral culture, we observe a variety of unique fauna and flora.
Since antiquity, wood pigeon hunting has been part of the traditions practiced along the estuary. In the Labarde marsh, in an exceptionally preserved natural environment, you can still see the palombières, typical huts perched at the top of the peaks at some 25 meters in height. It is a completely wild and surprising environment that can be discovered while hiking on the Boucle des Palombes. In addition to apprehending a local and ancestral culture, you can observe a variety of unique fauna and flora in the marshes: typical afforestation of floodplains made up of ash trees and poplars, marsh iris, summer snowmelt (rare and protected plant ), damsel, kingfisher, pond turtle (species of turtle naturally present in Aquitaine)...
