Carry me to the dune

Vine Leaf & Bikini

Carte-TERRI.BASSIN

A must-see spot for Gironde trips, breathtaking views, an extraordinary natural environment and a lot of people in summer! How to get to the dune avoiding the crowd? Follow the guide…

Access to the highest dune in Europe is totally free. For those who absolutely want to get there by car, be aware that paid parking contributes to the maintenance and preservation of this unique but fragile natural space. Hint: you can consult in real time the attendance of the parking lot of the dune on the site: https://www.ladunedupilat.com/acces/But also find out about the less frequented days…

What we prefer are soft transport, because there is only one dune, and you have to pamper it!

RIDE towards the summit (106 meters high), it's not complicated! go away TER from Bordeaux with your bike, and in 45 minutes (not even time to watch an episode of Game Of Thrones) you've arrived at the Teste-de-Buch station. Set foot on the ground and set off to attack the dune on your faithful steed in just 35 minutes. To make the excursion a little less physical but just as pleasant and silent: we draw the electric scooter. If you are already in the Bassin, consider public transport! The Baïa shuttles will take you to the foot of the dune in no time (and for only €1!)

SLIDE towards its 55 million m3 of sand! It's time to test the segway, silent, malleable and available in a lot of forms (hoverboards, segway, with or without handlebars…) to suit all smala! For those who are eager for sensations and always on the lookout for the latest trends, if you haven't already done so, we advise you to test the one wheel. Between surfing and snowboarding, new gliding sensations guaranteed! In addition, it is completely silent and respectful of the environment.

FLOAT and set sail for this site recognized as a “remarkable area” and classified Natura 2000. You can dock on your own and that's cool! On board your boat, in a kayak, on a paddleboard... There are plenty of options! You can even use water taxis (at a mini price) or go through theUnion of Arcachon Boatmen, who will be happy to drop you off at the foot of the lady of sand.

We leave you to your planning, we are waiting for you at the top to admire the sunset 😎
