[BNEB] Euratlantique: a district in metamorphosis

French

Euratlantique extends over 3,6 km and connects Saint-Jean station to the surrounding neighborhoods. The objective is to create a dynamic district, mixing old and new districts, TGV station, business centers, hotels, housing and cultural facilities. The project aims to modernize the area around Saint-Jean station, creating an attractive space for residents, businesses and visitors. Road works, street redevelopment and creation of public spaces are underway. Ultimately, this large-scale operation should make it possible to accommodate 50,000 inhabitants and 30,000 jobs and offer new places to live.
It is therefore a district in full expansion, which this guided and commented walk invites you to discover, by highlighting the key points and challenges of this transformation which, while relying on an existing heritage (Gare Saint-Jean, Postal sorting center, Place Armagnac, Halle Gattebourse, Pont de la Palombe, railway construction tanks, etc.) plans to create new living spaces.
