Bordeaux, judicial center

French

The story begins in the Middle Ages with the construction of Fort du Hâ, of which only the two towers remain today. This ancient fortress, built for defensive purposes, became a palace, then a court, a prison in the 2th and XNUMXth centuries and a place of detention for women during the Second World War. Today it is integrated into the grounds of the ENM and the TJB, a resolutely modern building designed by Richard Rogers, architect of the Center Pompidou.
Places rich in stories big and small, tragic and often unknown or unspoken, now symbols of human rights, the declaration of which is inscribed on its square.
