Three minutes from the Château de la Brède, come and discover the history of our region 20 million years ago, when Aquitaine was covered by the sea in a tropical climate...
The Saucats-La Brède Geological Nature Reserve opens its paths for free walks, The ideal is to go to the Maison de la Réserve (free entrance to the museum) where a location map will be given to you, or on a guided tour of a duration of approximately two hours.
This begins with the museum's collections (shark teeth, corals, tropical shells) and continues in the form of a short walk in the forest by a river where you can admire, among other things, thousands of open pit fossils.
We also offer workshops for children (from 7 years old) accompanied by adults with different themes ranging from the discovery of fossils to small animals.
