You will enjoy the charms of the Estuary and its islands during the ferry crossing: there is still time to enjoy a stroll or a restaurant on the port of Lamarque. Then you will take a network of small quiet roads through one of the most famous vineyards in the world: green in summer, red in autumn, the panoramas are splendid.
From Lamarque, Fort Médoc is only ten minutes away: we are sure that you will love playing little soldiers in this ancient fortress built by Vauban!
Were you expecting vineyards as far as the eye can see? Not only that. The forest is also present with lovely stops to make at the edge of the ponds. Each Médoc village is a source of encounters in a shop or at a winemaker's.
The atmosphere is gradually changing and the city is getting closer: bikes are everywhere in the Bordeaux Metropolis but stay vigilant!

Your itinerary
1
Margaux-Cantenac
To get to the village, you will have to deviate a little from the route at the level crossing and turn left. So be careful for this getaway. Everywhere, prestigious châteaux surround you. Go to the Maison des Vins de Margaux in the center of the village to find out more. We also give you a good tip: the Mademoiselle Margaux chocolate shop in the shape of vine shoots (closed on Sundays and Mondays). As for the very famous Château Margaux, it is located 10 minutes away, but be warned: it is not open to visitors. Nevertheless, how can you resist this essential photo through the gate?

2
Arsac
In the heart of the village, the 1992th century Romanesque portal is worth a visit! A good plan is a visit to the Château d'Arsac: a wine estate but also an open-air museum. Every year, since XNUMX, the estate has acquired a work signed by a major contemporary artist.

3
Blanquefort and Bruges
Here you are in the Bordeaux Metropolis where you join a cycle path: the landscape inevitably becomes more urban. Before the must-sees of Bordeaux, you still have beautiful natural spaces and spectacular parks to stop at.

4
Bordeaux
In the past, there were few bikes in Bordeaux. Now, they are everywhere and we love it. You reach the quays and find yourself in the heart of the city where 18th century architecture dominates: the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Before heading for the Pont de Pierre, a visit to the Cité du Vin is a must. From one bank to the other, there is no shortage of must-see sites. So go and have a look at the Tourist Office to find out everything: it has the Accueil Vélo label!
