Your itinerary

1

The essential

With the description of the hike that you will find in the tourist offices of Sauternes, Langon, Saint-Macaire and Hostens, you can start the hike!
2

The start

Your walk begins on the Place des Allées, opposite the Basilica of Verdelais. After visiting the building, turn left on leaving and climb the steps that lead to the Stations of the Cross. A few meters further on, on your left, is the small cemetery of Verdelais in which rests the famous painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. After leaving the cemetery, continue the climb to enjoy this place steeped in history.
3

Saint Maixant

At the top of the Stations of the Cross, turn left, towards Rue Cussol. Pass in front of the Château Mémoires and enjoy the view of the Garonne valley and the vineyards. At the first intersection, take the road that descends on your right for 500m, then right again. At the next crossing, and after 2km100, turn right, then, 200m further on, left. Take rue Cariot on your left and go down towards Saint-Maixant as far as the D10 which you will cross to reach Rue du Port.
4

Edge of the Garonne

When you have traveled 400m from the D10, turn left then, always leave the church of Saint-Maixant on your left to descend towards the Garonne. When you arrive on the banks of the Garonne, turn right and follow the river for 1km200. You will turn right after crossing a long wooden bridge to join the secondary road.
5

Checkin

Once back on the D10, walk along it for 200m then cross. Take the small road for 250m then go down a small path which climbs up to skirt the rows of vines.
6

Step 6

Go past a hall and take rue le Luc where you will walk along a low wall on your right. Then turn right and right again to find the wide road that takes you back to the Basilica and the Place des Allées!
