CREON

The adventure continues on the Roger Lapébie cycle path, this old railway line where you will enjoy the old stations now transformed into unusual places. Don't worry! You are not hallucinating: there are old carriages on your route. And a railway tunnel too! So many surprises to punctuate the undulating panoramas of the Entre-deux-Mers vineyards.
Unmissable stops at the abbey of Sauve-Majeure and the church of Saint Pierre which are registered on the list of World Heritage by UNESCO as part of the Ways of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. As you will have understood, we enjoy a tasting in a guinguette or a wine house, we clear our minds in exceptional sites and we finish in style in the fortified town of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne. You will never have demonstrated so much that pedaling does good!

Your itinerary

1

Sauve

This is a fine example of concentrated happiness in a small country village. You can grab a bite to eat at the old train station or in the central square, climb up the abbey tower, and discover local wines, in moderation, at the Maison des Vins de l'Entre-deux-Mers. In short, a stopover worth planning ahead to make the most of.
2

Junction with the Scandibérique

Nothing spectacular, in itself, but we wanted to let you know. This is where you cross the EV3 Euroveloroute, the Scandibérique. We prefer to keep you on the Tour de Gironde by bike but if you change your mind, Paris is on the left.
3

Sauveterre-de-Guyenne

Admit that Edward I was well inspired to create this new town in 1! And yes, around here we were then under the domination of the kings of England who were also Dukes of Aquitaine. A rare occurrence in Gironde, Sauveterre-de-Guyenne has preserved four fortified gates. In the center of the village, with its checkerboard of perpendicular streets, an arcaded square where the market takes place every Tuesday morning. On site, all the services await you for a charming stopover!
