MORTAGNE-SUR-GIRONDE

The landscapes become even more natural for this stage, where cycle paths alternate with small shared roads. The countryside takes over as you cross small villages on the hills and then return to the Gironde estuary. Another opportunity to take photos of the typical fishing huts. The ports provide welcome breaks: you stop pedaling for a picnic or a good little restaurant.
In short, we take our time and disconnect completely: that's the Tour de Gironde by bike.

Your itinerary

1

Port Maubert (Saint-Fort-sur-Gironde)

This stopover in Saint-Fort-sur-Gironde is certainly full of charm! The port used to be located at the foot of the famous Beaumont Tower. It's now on the edge of the estuary, which has long since receded. It's now a marina where it's pleasant to relax in the shade of the trees. But you'll also encounter professional fishermen. On-site camping, accommodation, and restaurants allow you to organize your activities as you please. Good to know: a port open-air café takes up residence on the site in July and August.
2

Vitrezay Nature Center

Vitrezay, located in Saint-Sorlin-de-Conac, is a port on the banks of the estuary. It's also an exceptional natural area offering activities for the whole family. The nature center offers information from April to October: there's no shortage of wildlife observation activities (the site has the Tourism and Disability label).
