Haureuils and its school On certain old documents, we find this village in the form of Aureuilh or Aurulx. Would it have been formed from the Latin name of a person: Aurius or Aurélius? Unless the name was formed from "Haou", the blacksmith... On February 14, 1869, the municipal council recognizes that the distances which separate the 2 hamlets of Le Bourg are an obstacle for young children to be able to attend school. and, in September, the municipality decides that there will therefore be 2 communal schools for girls, one in the town, the other in Haureuils and "recognizes as such those existing since January 1, 1869." girls' school in Haureuils, Monsieur Ballion l'abbé agreed, in February 1870, to rent the house he had just had built in Haureuils to make it a school house and at the same time serve as accommodation for the teacher.

On the Chemin des Boulangers, the family bakery "Le Fouril d'Albert" bears witness to another era. Patrick Bordessoules and his sister, Corinne reopened the bakery in memory of their grandfather, keeping the old-fashioned method with country breads; Viennese pastries, and a fougasse à la Sud-Ouest, the limited choice is assumed and a guarantee of quality. Witness to another era, the wood-fired oven dating from 1922 gives off the good smells of hot bread.
