Vine Leaf & Bikini

Mythical, accessible and popular, this pretty lady celebrated her 70th birthday in 2018. She has many followers all over the world and in Gironde she is the perfect guide for a Gironde wine trip. Everybody aboard !

On paper, the deudeuche can transport "two cultivators in clogs, fifty kilos of potatoes at a maximum speed of 60km/h for a consumption of 3 liters of gasoline per 100. Impeccable comfort because the eggs transported behind must remain intact”. The class! If with that you are not convinced that a trip to the Bordeaux vineyards is essential, we have what you need.

  • Immediately on the right, direction Fronsadais:

The Château de la Dauphine takes you in the legendary Citroën to take a tour of the owner. In the park of the castle you will learn, thanks to the history of the domain and its inhabitants, the characteristics of the appellation and its terroir. After that, head to the carrelet and truffle fields of the property, for an immersion in Girondin know-how. The visit ends with a panoramic view of the Fronsadais hillsides. And to accompany the view, there's nothing like a little tasting that pairs 3 wines from the château with local specialities: lamprey rillettes, truffle butter, dried duck breast, Basque sheep's cheese and the famous Bordeaux canelés. Yum !

Info: Monday to Saturday by appointment. Individual price: €40 / person. Duration: about 2 hours. 2 to 3 people maximum. Reservation on: https://www.chateau-dauphine.com/oenotourisme/

  • Your destination, Saint-Emilion will be on your left:

A deudeuche to visit Saint-Emilion okay, but a convertible please! Ok we run and we do even better. This time, we pick you up directly in Bordeaux, at the foot of your hotel or your super apartment. On the road, your driver, a true enthusiast, will tell you the story of this exceptional vineyard. Well arrived at your destination, you will start with a visit/tasting in a family property. The village of Saint-Emilion then awaits you for a visit and a well-deserved lunch break. You will then have the choice between a lunch at the château or a ''French style'' picnic in the heart of the vineyard. In the afternoon, you will push the doors of a Grand Cru Classé before setting off to discover Libourne. Something to bring back great memories in the suitcase!

Info: Price: €846 per car for 1 to 3 people. Duration: around 7h30. From 1 to 9 participants. Reservation on:

  • Le Médoc, at the roundabout take the first exit:

Here too the 2CV is practiced convertible, enough to enjoy the Girondin sun in all circumstances. The departure is from Bordeaux with a private driver knowledgeable about the vineyard (impossible to trap, like the English guards, he is unfailingly serious).

In the morning, you will meet passionate winegrowers. They will open the doors of their family property to you. You will also have the chance to enter the domain of a Grand Cru Classé. On the way back, take advantage of the route of the castles, to take photos and bring back with you a small piece of the Médoc.

Info: Price: €462 per car for 1 to 3 people. Duration: about 4 hours. From 1 to 9 participants. Reservation on: https://www.visiter-bordeaux.com/fr/decouvrir-le-vignoble/visite-privee-du-vignoble-en-2cv-medoc-4h00.html

  • Pessac-Léognan, head south:

You have understood the principle, convertible 2CV, departure from Bordeaux, driver with small onions but the most important thing here is the direction: the vineyard of Pessac-Léognan!

During the morning, we engage the expatriation mode and we let ourselves be carried away. From family property to grand crus classés, you will discover the riches of this vineyard between city and nature, between Bordeaux and the Landes de Gascogne park. Château les Carmes Haut-Brion, Château Pape Clément… it makes you dream.

Info: Price: €462 per car for 1 to 3 people. Duration: about 4 hours. 1 9 to participants. Reservation on: https://www.visiter-bordeaux.com/fr/decouvrir-le-vignoble/visite-privee-du-vignoble-en-2cv-pessac-leognan-4h00.html

And don't forget to be careful on the road because otherwise “Inevitably, it will work much less well” 😉
