To the north of the Médoc, the small port of Saint-Christoly-Médoc has been a land of wine for a long time. The history of Château Saint-Christoly began in 1850 with Pierre Moreau, a blacksmith from the town. The few acres of vines and the original small winery have now become a 29-hectare Médoc property. Passed down from generation to generation, Château Saint-Christoly has been run for 10 years by Sandrine and Cathy Héraud.
The two sisters, one cellar master, the other marketing manager, work together to bring the touch of femininity found in their wines. Follow them into the aging cellar inaugurated in 2002 and which can hold 400 barrels, then into the cellar where a tasting of Médoc red or rosé awaits you. And why not take advantage of your presence on the banks of the Gironde Estuary to visit the Cordouan lighthouse?
