In the land of fortified towns in Entre-deux-Mers (Lugasson is located between Créon and Sauveterre-de-Guyenne) and close to the Roger Lapebie cycle path, Château Roquefort occupies a triangular promontory with steep slopes. In Neolithic times, a Gallic oppidum was installed at this place as evidenced by the longest covered alley in Europe sheltering numerous burials. Owned by the Bellanger family since 1978, Château Roquefort, in the XNUMXth century style, has been entirely renovated.
During your visit, admire the two vaulted rooms of the stable, renovated with bricks from the Loire Valley and transformed into a barrel cellar. Discover the XNUMXth century dovecote, whose machinery was identically rebuilt by the Compagnons du Devoir. After a visit to the cellar, all you have to do is taste the AOC Bordeaux Supérieur and Bordeaux wines from Château Roquefort.
