Between Margaux and Saint-Julien, during the Moulis en Médoc appellation, the entrance to Château Maucaillou is located on the Place de la Gare de Moulis.
The Château, a wedding gift from Monsieur Petit Laroche to his wife, is a fine example of the eclectic architecture that flourished in the Médoc at the end of the XNUMXth century.
Since 1929, the Dourthe family has owned the estate.
Thanks to the privileges of its terroir and the loving and passionate care taken in vinification, aging in barrels and bottling, the wines of Château MAUCAILLOU reach an exceptional class, which has nothing to envy to many Great Crus Classés of the Médoc.
The soils that carry the 90 hectares of vineyards of the "Domaines de MAUCAILLOU", are made up of beautiful hilltops of quaternary alluvium, coming in large part from the Garonne gravelly layer of Güntz,
