Castle The Hague

Château La Haye is one of the oldest representatives of the noble terroir of Saint-Estèphe. Belonging to the lord of the fief of the valley of Leyssac in 1557, it would also have been the hunting lodge where Henri II met his favorite, Diane de Poitiers. When you enter this elegant property, part of which still dates from the XNUMXth century, you see an "H" and a "D" which seem to give credence to this legend.
In 2012, Chris Cardon, a Belgian pharmacist, fell in love with the region, bought the property. Combining two professions, he strives to increase the quality of the wines while respecting the terroir. After an extension of the vat room, he launched the renovation of a reception room at the castle to receive visitors. They can admire a magnificent mosaic with the coat of arms of the Saint-Affrique family, which owned the castle for 370 years.
