Chateau Fonroque

French, English

A stone's throw from the heart of the medieval city of Saint-Émilion, Château Fonroque is one of the 57 Grands Crus Classés of the Saint-Émilion appellation. Since 1931, the Moueix family, a large house of wine merchants from Libourne, has presided over the destiny of this 20-hectare estate. In 2002, Alain Moueix took the “organic” turn, gradually leading Château Fonroque to biodynamics.
In a large wooded park at the bottom of which you can see the elegant mansion, enter the exposed stone vault covered with Virginia creeper. During your visit, discover the principles of biodynamics, this philosophy which tends towards sustainable viticulture, respectful of the environment. In the tasting room, photographs of the Moueix family tell the story of Château Fonroque.
