Are you fond of history and authenticity? You will be delighted by a visit to the Château de Portets, a vast residence in the heart of the famous Graves region, 28 km south-east of Bordeaux. A fortified castle in the Middle Ages, the Château de Portets was visited by Napoleon I, who stayed there on his return from Spain in 1808. Wars affected the property. Jean Théron bought the vineyard in 1956, marking the beginning of the rebirth of the estate.
Today, Marie-Hélène Yung-Théron guides you in the footsteps of this illustrious past. From the terrace, admire the breathtaking view of the Garonne then enter the imposing cellars to discover the winemaking and aging methods applied according to the rules of the art. Perhaps you will have the chance, after a tasting of the estate's wines, to attend a concert in the courtyard of the Château de Portets.
