In the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, on the road to Saucats a few kilometers from Bordeaux, the Château de France was built on the foundations of an old manor house of which it still has a beautiful vaulted cellar. This mansion was born from the will of the prosecutor Philippe Decoud at the end of the XNUMXth century. It was embellished in the XNUMXth century with Jean-Henri Lacoste, who eliminated the wings forming a U, added small pavilions at each end and a second floor.
In 2011, the Thomassin family celebrated its 40th anniversary at the helm of this 38-hectare estate: the father, Bernard, replanted the vineyard, restored the cellars and fitted out a reception room. The son, Arnaud, opens the doors of the Château de France to you by appointment to share with you his passion for the profession of winemaker. All the wines of the castle are available for sale on site.
