This mill still has its roof and its wings. Its high circular tower, built with care, supports the weight of the frame and that of the mechanism. A door gives access to the ground floor which is occupied by the miller's home. Until the beginning of the 19th century, milling activity was important in the region. Production is intended to supply Bordeaux, as well as the colonies, so mills are frequently located near ports. Their rotating roofs allow the wings to be oriented in the wind. One hundred and fifty windmills were recorded in the Médoc at the end of the 19th century.
