Malle Castle

French, English

In the heart of Sauternes, the Château de Malle seduces with its Renaissance architecture, the great wines of Sauternes and Graves grown in its cellars and its remarkable Italian gardens. Built in the 17th century by Jacques de Malle, president of the Parliament of Bordeaux, the Château de Malle commands and inspires respect thanks to this admirable setting.
Stroll among its 6 hectares of Florentine-inspired terraced gardens with delicate statues. Have fun recognizing Cupid here, Venus and her lover Adonis there. Bacchus is not far away either, as evidenced by these sculptures inspired by the work of the vineyard and wine, and even the effects of drunkenness... To the east of the first terrace, well-known characters from the commedia dell'arte, Pantalon, Scaramouche or Arlequin, invite you to a small Italian-style theater built of cut stone.
