Moulin de l’Armurey

This establishment, located on the border between Arbis and Escoussans, was probably built during the second half of the 1485th century. It takes its name from a Milanese armourer, Ambroise de Karoles, settled in Bordeaux in 1490. First associated with three other Italians, he established himself in Escoussans in XNUMX, undoubtedly at the request of Gaston de Foix, Count of Benauges. This mill, also called a new mill, was probably rebuilt after the end of the Hundred Years' War and was then used to beat the plates intended for the production of armory parts, but also to grind grain.
