Cloister of the Cordeliers

English

Listed as a Historic Monument, this magnificent vestige of the second monastery was originally established for the Franciscan monks, the first convent located outside the city walls having been destroyed. The complex consisted of a church, a cloister, a garden, a cellar, a vat room, a cellar, a courtyard and a main building.
The last religious present were expelled during the French Revolution and the convent was sold, in poor condition, as national property in 1791.
Today a true haven of peace and relaxation, a guided historical tour of the site and the cellars is offered. The estate also has a wine bar serving Les Cordeliers sparkling wines, by the glass or the bottle, accompanied by savory and sweet treats. Picnic meal baskets and cold drinks are also available for sale.
