April Walks

Vine Leaf & Bikini

Ah, spring... An inspiring season par excellence, it above all makes you on the move. We recommend 5 walks to discover with your hair in the wind, in the light spring breeze.

1. Culture & siesta
This short excursion begins with a visit to the Bastide de Blasimon. Founded in 1273, the castrum of “Blavini Mons” became a Bastide under English domination in 1322, by decision of Edward II. Blasimon is a superb view of the Gamage valley and the very beautiful Benedictine abbey church of Saint-Nicolas, famous for its facade. You can then take a nose dive Departmental domain of sports and leisure, located just nearby, with its supervised beach.

2. Birds & waterways
The ornithological reserve of Teich, it is the favorite camp of the birds, and ours too. There, 317 different species are offered to your amazed eyes, on 6 km of walk.
Calm and serenity reign there, probably because nature reigns supreme there. Good to know: the Rouge Gorge trail has been specially designed for children, to discover while having fun. If you want to prolong the nature moment, climb into a canoe and sail on the Leyre, this small coastal river in the Landes de Gascogne which flows into the Arcachon basin.

3. Parks and neighborhoods
If you are from the Metropolis, know that you do not need to go very far: the GR Bordeaux metropolis is a green route of 160 km, which crosses natural spaces and urban parks. Rather bike? Become a fan of the 6 Super Bike Rides, which you can discover on the territory, labeled “Territoire vélo”, that's to tell you how great they are!
In short, find all the walks, on foot, on horseback, by boat and bike on www.bordeaux-tourisme.com

4. Family & treasure hunt
And yes, to the delicate question of the children: “What are we doing today? ", We have the answer. Don't thank us, that's what we're here for. If you have the adventurer profile, we can only advise you too much Terra Adventure, the geocaching game that drives neo-Aquitaine and our beloved tourists crazy. About twenty routes in Gironde, an app that's too easy to use and presto, you're spoiled for choice.
If you are more of a family investigator, then choose Robin, the little Girondin adventurer. Riddles yes, but also riddles and games, throughout the territory.

You will be able to walk along wide paths, without great elevations or car traffic, on short circuits not going beyond 4km. We try ?
