Meeting with Alice and Charles, the extras of all “the scenes of your holidays in Gironde” who told us about their experience.

WERE THERE ANY PLACES YOU DISCOVERED OR REDISCOVERED DURING YOUR FILMING?

Alice: Especially discovered in fact! I did not know at all Pauillac and Certainty and Graveyron area contrary to Bordeaux . I enjoyed rediscovering the Citadel of Blaye in the morning light, it was incredible… It really is a sublime and very impressive place! I had never seen it like that… And after Saint-Emilion, it was raining, bad luck but I love this village, even in the rain!

Charles: For my part, I have the feeling of having discovered a new territory. The discovery of Saint-Emilion which I had never visited but also the re-discovery of La Dune du Pilat for example, where we had already been, it was a real surprise, the lights of dawn, the mist coming out of the forest… it was incredible. Push open the doors of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux and discover this magnificent interior…

WHAT IS YOUR BEST MEMORY OF THIS FILMING IN THE GIRONDE?

Alice: Complicated to name just one because we really spent 4 and a half days laughing. The team was really nice. For me, the most impressive thing was the first day. The sunset at the Domaine de Certes and Graveyron was to die for! Otherwise, I think the memory and the most unusual place was this cabin in the vineyards.

Charles: Ah yes… The sunset in the shack which overlooks the vines… It is high up and offers an exceptional view of the Garonne.

Alice: It was truly an amazing memory. It was the day before the last day of filming, an unusual, confidential place, a secret corner… in short, a superb memory.

DURING FILMING, WHAT EMOTIONS DID YOU FEEL?

Alice: It was a great experience… We have the impression that we already know the region, when not at all, we discovered crazy places! We live in a very beautiful region! We had a lot of fun shooting, the team made us feel comfortable, the sets were to die for…We didn't have to play a role, our emotions came naturally.

Charles: Yes very nice and we know each other well, we are quite accomplices, so it was very pleasant…

IF YOU HAD TO DEFINE THE GIRONDE IN ONE ADJECTIVE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Charles: Surprising! We do not expect to see such a wide variety of wow things to discover!

Alice: Yes, I would say generous!

Charles: It's not just sand dunes and vineyards...

Alice: Yes, we go from one universe to another, from the great beaches to the vineyards, from historic sites to natural spaces, we travel between architecture and nature… the Gironde is generous and surprising!
