Un elevator in the middle of a park? Yes, it does exist, and more specifically in the Parc Mauresque d'Arcachon. An elevator to change your state of mind, in a few minutes.
Take flight (literally), in a few seconds, from the effervescence of the Ville d'Été to the bucolic atmosphere of the Ville d'Hiver in Arcachon: it's possible! Head to Place du 8 Mai and its multicolored and truly vintage corridor that leads to the lift in the Mauresque park. A former funicular built in 1913, it takes you straight to the park. In a few steps, you are facing the Bassin. A few more steps, and it is in the middle of dozens of trees from all over the world that you can enjoy a little shade. Cross the Saint-Paul footbridge, and you will find yourself at the top of the Sainte-Cécile observatory (no elevator but stairs this time!), in front of one of the most beautiful panoramas of the basin! A walk as unique as it is soothing.
